Jyoti Amge – a 20-year-old from Nagpur, India, whom Guinness has declared to be the world’s shortest woman – has been cast in the drama’s fourth season, dubbed Freak Show. The action will center on a Florida carnival in the 1950s. As a preview, Ryan Murphy, the drama’s executive producer, Tweeted a photo of Amge in the arms of series regular Jessica Lange. Amge stands 2’06” tall and has a genetic disorder called achondroplasia. After being measured by Guinness, Amge reportedly announced that she wished to pursue a career in acting – and she certainly picked a great place to start! Besides working alongside returning stars Lange, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson, Amge will get to meet Patti LaBelle – who this week was cast to play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe. The new season of AHS will kick off in October. In the meantime, here’s an introduction to Amge: Want more stories like this?
