Ben Woolf, who played Meep, was hit in the head by a passing SUV's rearview mirror
American Horror Story: Freak Show star Ben Woolf is in critical condition after he was hit in the head by a passing SUV’s side mirror as he crossed a Hollywood street Thursday night, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE.
Police said the accident occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday, and Woolf, who played Meep on the show, was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in intensive care.
“Ben is one of the kindest and hardest-working people I know,” said Woolf’s rep in a statement to PEOPLE. “His condition remains critical at this time and we ask that everyone please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers, and respect his family’s privacy during this time.”
The 4′ 4″ actor – who was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism as a child – was reportedly jaywalking, and the driver of the SUV involved in the accident was not charged, according to TMZ, which first reported the story.
Before appearing on several episodes of AHS since 2011, Woolf previously had roles in the films Dead Kansas and Haunting Charles Manson. He also performed stunts on TV’s Dexter, Bustle reported.
