Entertainment TV Amazon to Stream the Entire First Season of 'Transparent' for Free The show took home two Golden Globes earlier this month By Candace Stewart Published on January 23, 2015 06:35 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Amazon announced Thursday that it will offer the entire first season of the hit series Transparent for free. This weekend, you’ll be able to stream all 10 episodes of the two-time Golden Globe winner without spending a dime. The catch? The offer only lasts for 24 hours. “This Saturday, all Episodes of #Transparent will be available FREE for 24 hours only! Let the countdown begin!” the show posted on its official Twitter account. The TV series was a surprise winner at this year’s Globes, taking home the award for best TV series, musical or comedy. The show’s star, Jeffrey Tambor, also nabbed the award for best actor in a TV series, musical or comedy for his portrayal of a parent of three who opens up to her family about identifying as a woman. “We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved in the making of Transparent – the team took a risk and it paid off,” said Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in a statement. Amazon will also slash its annual Prime subscription fee on Saturday from $99 to $72 – in honor of the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards – as an added bonus. You can catch the hit show on Amazon’s Instant Video app for TVs, connected devices and mobile devices or online at Amazon.com.
