A lot of the fans come up to me, but it’s the mom plus the kid,” says Mitchell, 37, who plays a music mogul working with app-creating tweens on the show. “The mom will be, like, ‘I was following Kel back in the ’90s. I was the original fan.’ And the daughter is, like, ‘I saw him on Sam and Kat.’ It’s pretty awesome. I’ve got the whole family watching now.” For more from Kel Mitchell – including how his life was saved by his faith – pick up the latest issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday Game Shakers airs Saturdays (8:30 p.m. ET) on Nick.
