No one has the competition in the bag on this season’s The Biggest Loser.

But when it comes to maintaining her body, for host Alison Sweeney it’s all about the duffel.

“Fitness is not an option. It’s part of my job,” the Days of Our Lives actress, who guest blogs for PEOPLE.com, 35, tells Redbook magazine for the May cover story. “If I didn’t bring my duffel bag with me, I wouldn’t work out.”

She adds: “If I go home, I know I’ll get distracted.”

She may make it to the gym, but Sweeney, who flaunted a 20 lbs.-slimmer figure on the April cover of Shape, says she doesn’t always prioritize the time she spends in bed.

“If I get six hours of sleep, that’s a good night,” she says. “You’ve got to go while the getting’s good, which it is right now. Maybe in 10 years, I’ll be a stay-at-home mom.” (She has two children, Ben, 7, and Megan, 3, with husband David Sanov.)

Like her enviable physique, her low-key lifestyle doesn’t come easily for Sweeney – especially in Hollywood.

“Thank God my life is normal. I work hard to make it normal,” she says. “I go to the market and do the dishes. I’m not treated differently because I work on TV.”
