Alex Trebek's children are reflecting on their loving dad in honor of Father's Day.

Last Wednesday, the Jeopardy! host's wife, Jean, published a blog entry on Insidewink in which she asked his three kids — Matthew, Emily and Nicky, the daughter of his ex-wife whom he adopted  — about some of their most cherished childhood memories with their dad.

"It feels to me like our little family was meant to be … the stars all were aligned to bring together such unique personalities which deeply support and respect each other," wrote Jean. "What’s interesting for me to witness, is that they each have had their own unique experiences with Alex and that really reflects back different perspectives on the man I married."

"When we’re together I feel such joy," she continued. "It really pleases me that Matthew, Emily and Nicky have become such great friends and close siblings."

Each of the siblings then discerned which traits and characteristics they share with Trebek, 79 — both of his daughters pointing out that they inherited his Type-A perfection genes.

"My Dad and I are both pretty Type-A individuals … I think I got a lot of my organizational, financial and perfectionistic traits from him," said Emily. "He also has always been into construction so I think that rubbed off on me too."

Nicky added, "I have a similar passion for organization in my household. Dad is extremely into cleanliness and organization."

The children also listed the attributes they most admire about their father, with Matthew identifying his "persistence when it comes to solving challenges." Emily said his determination is unshakable: "When he has his mind set on something, nothing will change it."

Nicky then added that Trebek's generosity and humility stands out, even as he battled a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

"I personally experienced him writing hundreds of thousands of thank you notes while he battled for his life. It’s truly astounding," she said. "I honestly can’t even put it into words."

Turns out Trebek is also quite the handyman, as his family cited his fixer-upper abilities as one of his best skills. "He's great at staying focused and fixing sprinklers," said Matthew.

"He is really good at his job and also fixing things around the house," said Emily, who now has a career flipping homes. "I always call him if I have an issue around the house and he’ll be over within the hour with the perfect tool."

She also reminisced on one of her favorite memories with her dad, recalling "all of the times we spent at our Lake House in Paso Robles."

"My dad would be on the jet ski and would take us for rides in the innertube," she said.

And Nicky, who works on Jeopardy! alongside her dad, highlighted Trebek's famous job, simply stating that he is "really good at his profession," and sweetly calling him the "best in the business."

"People don’t really understand what it takes to do what he does," she said, reflecting on working by her father's side. "He is meticulous and I feel very honored to have been able to watch him behind the scenes all of these years."
