Ali Wentworth‘s Pop TV comedy Nightcap is back for season 2 — and this time, she has a whole new slew of celebrity guests joining her, including Julianne Moore, Julianna Margulies, Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria.
“Hilaria was so fun to work with,” says Wentworth of Hilaria, who plays a celebrity booker for a late-night show hosted by a never-seen guy named “Jimmy.” “She’s not really an actress, but she was surprisingly fun and good.”
Of course, working with her off-screen friend Alec was a piece of cake.
“He should teach a master class in comedy and acting,” says Wentworth, 52, who is married to journalist and former political advisor George Stephanopoulos. “He’s the kind of person when you lock eyes with him, you’re in it so deep. It’s like hitting balls with McEnroe. Your game is raised. There’s nothing you can throw at him that he won’t lob back in a better way.”

And PEOPLE has an exclusive sneak peek at the season 2 premiere that feature sthe duo sharing an intimate moment — and an interesting exchange about how cilantro smells.
“Oh he’s a very strong Alpha presence,” Wentworth says with a laugh about Baldwin, 59. “Very strong!”
Nightcap premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Pop TV.
