Alec Baldwin Lampoons Trump with Jokes About His Taxes on Saturday Night Live Season Premiere
On Saturday, NBC's hit sketch comedy show returned from summer break
On Saturday, the cast of NBC’s hit sketch comedy show returned from its summer break and parodied everything from pop culture to politics. The show opened with a parody of the first presidential debate on Sept. 26.
Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) made her grand debut with a Willy Wonka-esque entrance – cane and all. Baldwin then appeared as Donald Trump and right away nailed the impersonation and even accused Clinton (McKinnon) of stealing his microphone.
On the topic of creating more jobs, Baldwin’s Trump had “a very presidential answer” for that.
“Our jobs are fleeing this country. They’re going to Mexico. They’re going to Jina,” he said. “I would stop that. If Hillary knew how, she would have done it already. Period. End of story. I won the debate, I stayed calm, just like I promised, and it is over. Goodnight Hofstra.”
At one point during the cold open McKinnon threw in the Clinton’s newly famous shoulder-shimmy while Baldwin had Trump’s mannerisms down to a science – sniffles and all. During the parody, Trump (Baldwin) gave a quick shoutout to Rosie O’Donnell while also throwing in a racist comment or two. Clinton (McKinnon) summed it up by saying, “I think I’m going to be president.”
“I have the best judgment and the best temperament,” Baldwin’s Trump said. “She’s the one with the bad temperament. She’s always screaming, she’s constantly lying, her hair is crazy, her face is completely orange except around the eyes where it’s white, and when she stops talking her mouth looks like a tiny little butthole.”
“Listen America, I get it, you hate me and you hate me face,” Clinton (McKinnon) said during the opening. “But I will lock myself in the White House for four years and you won’t have to see me.”
