With a title like Unusually Thicke, how can reality show fans stay away?

Alan Thicke and his family will take part in a new 14-episode reality series that focuses on the Growing Pains star and his relationship with his wife, Tanya, and his teenage son, Carter.

Unusually Thicke combines my two favorite things,” the 67-year-old actor said in a statement. “Family and laughing at my family.”

“This series is my foray into the ‘reality-ish’ world where viewers will meet the lovable, unpredictable and often challenging people who live with the real Jason Seaver,” Thicke says, referring to his television alter-ego that entertained television audiences for seven seasons.

The new show will feature guest appearances by celebrity family friends, including David Hasselhoff, Bob Saget, John Stamos, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Bill Maher, Tom Green and of course, Thicke’s eldest son, musician Robin Thicke.

He loves [Robin] more than me,” Carter says with a deadpan expression in the show’s trailer. “Why? Because he makes him more money.”

Unusually Thicke premieres April 16 at 10 p.m. EST on TVGN.
