It’s a match made in musical theater heaven.
American Idol alum Adam Lambert will join the cast of Glee this fall.
The show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy made the announcement on Twitter Thursday, calling Lambert “super talented.”
Lambert, who came in second on Idol‘s eighth season, quickly Tweeted back: “I’m so excited!” A message on his Facebook account added to the announcement: “Get ready to Gleek out Glamberts!”
Lambert, 31, won two GLAAD Awards in May, including the organization’s Davidson/Valenti Award, which honors a member of the LGBT community who makes a significant difference promoting equal rights. He also tied Frank Ocean as GLAAD’s Outstanding Musical Artist. His second studio album Trespassing was released last year.
Glee‘s new season begins on Fox Sept. 19.
