It’s amazing — almost unbelievable — when the suits get it right. It was nearing the end of the last night’s 90210 when our favorite reformed bad girls, Kelly (Jennie Garth) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty), stood in the high school parking lot talking about boys. Seriously, is it 2008? Oh, yes it is. Instead of worrying about night clubs and trendy purses, these ladies were revealing the paternity of Kelly’s 4-year-old son. It’s Dylan McKay!

Now we know our favorite bad boy with a heart of gold is traveling the world and doing good for all mankind. Really?! Is it possible Dylan turned his life around and started caring about others? Brenda told Kelly to get her story straight before she starts messing around with the English teacher (Ryan Eggold). Speaking of messing around, what’s with Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) playing super-sleuth and hunting down her father’s midlife-crisis fling? That girl has done nothing but pout and pout some more for two episodes. We missed the mean girl from the opening episode. Where’s the girl who launched the slap heard ’round the world? Instead, Naomi played protective daughter to her enabling mother, nurturing ex-girlfriend to Ethan’s autistic brother and sympathetic ex-bestie to Silver (Jessica Stroup) because now she realizes how mean it was to spread gossip when Silver’s own family was falling apart. When Naomi is sweet and reminiscing about their date at the zoo, Ethan (Dustin Milligan) remembers what he loved about her before he started cheating on her. Aww, young love.

There were budding romances all over this episode, actually. The best future couple alert belonged to Silver and Dixon (Tristan Wilds). No whining or love triangles. Just two kids opening up about how different they feel in a world of exclusive club lists and ridiculously expensive handbags. How long until they kiss? Better yet, how long before they mess it up with West Bev drama?

Meanwhile, Annie threw away her date with too-perfect Ty (Adam Gregory) and Vampire Weekend for coffee at the Peach Pit with too-cute Ethan. And true to form, Ethan had to cancel. After Dixon and Silver told her Ethan and Naomi are always and 4ever, she finally got the message and whipped up a batch of snickerdoodles (yes, you read that right)– love it when she gets Midwest — in an effort to say she’s sorry for passing up concert tickets for a boy she kissed two summers ago. The snickerdoodles didn’t work, it is Beverly Hills afterall, but her kiss in the hallway did. Not only did she score a smooch, but she scored tickets to Sea Wolf. –Elaine Aradillas

Tell us: Was you surprised Dylan turned out to be the father of Kelly’s son? And does this set-up the possibility of a cameo by Luke Perry? And who’s your favorite new couple?
