90 Day Fiancé's Larissa Dos Santos Flushed Her Wedding Ring from Colt Johnson Down the Toilet
Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima’s explosive relationship is back in the spotlight.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at Sunday’s season premiere of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, the TLC stars sit down to eat with Johnson’s mother Debbie — but things get tense when Dos Santos Lima demands to know where Johnson’s wedding ring is.
“My ring is just off my hand,” he says. “Where’s your ring?”
Debbie then realizes that neither of them are wearing their rings and asks why.
“Would you like to explain, or should I?” Johnson says, turning to his wife.
Dos Santos Lima reveals she flushed her ring down the toilet — “I was not happy,” she explains — and her mother-in-law is shocked.
“About a week ago, we argued and Larissa ran to the bathroom and flushed the wedding ring down the toilet,” Johnson confirms. “When I heard the flush of the toilet, it broke my heart.”
“I did it because it’s what the marriage means to me,” Dos Santos Lima says.
Debbie is furious.
“That’s just like taking Colt’s payroll [and tossing it],” she says.
“Colt is paying, but Colt’s money is my money, so,” Dos Santos Lima fires back.
“So it doesn’t mean anything to you that he works his a— off so he can buy nice things for you and you just toss it in the toilet?” Debbie says. “I’m sorry, I’m really upset about this.”
“I don’t think either one of you needs to be married to each other. I think your relationship stinks,” she adds. “Why do you guys want to be married to each other? I don’t understand that.”
The conversation quickly escalates from there as Dos Santos Lima claims Debbie doesn’t want her around because she’s “competition,” while Debbie complains that her daughter-in-law “sleeps all day.”
“Sleeping? Who cleans the house, Debbie?” Dos Santos Lima says. “You watch cartoons all day.”
Johnson urges his wife to “stop being hostile,” but it’s too late.
“Our marriage is like this because of you,” Dos Santos Lima says.
The insult sets Debbie off and within seconds, the two are shouting over each other.
“You need to be nice to me!” yells Debbie.
Dos Santos Lima and Johnson, who is from Brazil, initially connected on social media. They met for the first time in Mexico, and Johnson proposed after five days. They got married on June 24, 2018. 90 Day Fiancé viewers watched as Johnson, who lives with his mother, struggled to fit Dos Santos Lima into his life and worried about her high-maintenance lifestyle on season 6 of the TLC show.
The two have since split, settling their divorce earlier this month. Their fallout will be chronicled on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, which follows couples from previous seasons and documents the ups and downs of their relationships post-marriage.
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
