Is it time for Rob’s return?

A Keeping up with the Kardashians source tells PEOPLE that after nearly a year and a half away from the cameras, Rob Kardashian has begun privately shooting scenes for his reality TV comeback.

The sock designer, 28, has been reclusive in recent months, following some personal struggles, including a weight gain of more than 100 pounds.

A second source denies that Kardashian will rejoin his family on E!’s hit show, but we compiled a list of reasons it may only be a matter of time before the male Kardashian makes his resurgence.

5. He’s Still Under Contract.

A source tells PEOPLE that Rob is still under contract with E! A second insider says he is already getting paid for his time shooting.

4. He’s Been More Active on Social Media.

The star is slowly returning to social media, showing off his workouts with sister Kim Kardashian West, trips to the beach and chronicling his weight loss.

3. He’s Getting Healthy.

Rob has been working to lose the more than 100 lbs he recently gained. He’s been working with trainer Gunnar Peterson, who told PEOPLE last month Rob is always in the gym. Adds the KUWTK source: “Rob has already lost a lot of weight and seems much healthier mentally as well.”

2. Khloé’s Been Hinting.

In footage promoting upcoming episodes, Rob’s sister Khloé Kardashian, who lives with Rob, teases a photo that he sent her, but doesn’t show it to the camera. This suggests that the first time we see a slimmer Rob will be on Keeping up with the Kardashians.

1. He’s Been a Topic of Conversation on the Show.

The family has been talking about Rob much more on the show recently. Even though he wasn’t seen, Kim and Khloé talked about their brother while on their Armenia trip in last week’s episode. And in the same episode, mom Kris Jenner came over to Khloé’s house looking for her son. (He didn’t leave his room).

Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs Sunday (8 p.m. ET) on E!
