The Peculiar Way Viola Davis Celebrated Her Emmy Nomination
"I made an egg salad sandwich on low-carb toast," Davis tells PEOPLE of celebrating her nomination
It’s not likely that anyone else celebrated their Emmy nomination quite like Viola Davis.
“I was in my Jacuzzi, and I got a call from a friend. We had a whole conversation and then, as he was ready to hang up, he said, ‘Oh, by the way, congratulations on your nomination,’ ” Davis, 50, tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
It may be the How to Get Away with Murder star’s first shot at an Emmy (she’s in the running for outstanding lead actress in a drama series), but the two-time Academy Award nominee didn’t let herself go too crazy celebrating.
“I made an egg salad sandwich on low-carb toast, poured myself some prosecco and got back in the Jacuzzi,” says the actress.
