Ben and Jessa’s first top was Paris, where they hit up all the regular tourist traps and even tried snails for the first time. That went over as well as expected.
They also hit up the Eiffel Tower, where we learned that Ben is afraid of heights … and that Jessa is not afraid of pushing Ben to face his fears, by literally pushing him so that he walked across the Tower’s glass floor.
“That’s what couples are for, you know?” said Jessa. “In life you’ve just gotta help each other stand up and face your fears and do things you normally wouldn’t do otherwise.”
Rome was a little more low-key for the Seewalds, as they learned how to make fresh pasta from scratch. The instructor was hilariously overwhelmed when he learned that Jessa had 18 siblings, but who wouldn’t be?
Jessa, who admits she’s not a great cook, said that the cooking lessons were her favorite part about being in Rome but that the whole experience, naturally, was “amazing.”
(Ben said that the only reason she’s not a good cook is because he always distracts her in the kitchen.)
In Venice, Jessa and Ben rode along the canals and hit up a vintage store where the shopkeeper was surprised they were married at such a young age. However, “they look so completely in love,” they said.
The happy couple also hit up the Piazza San Marco, where Ben thought that feeding the birds would be a good idea … it decidedly was not. Those birds are vicious!
Back at Home
Back in Arkansas, the Duggars were getting Jessa and Ben’s home ready for their arrival. Having been empty ever since Josh and Anna were living there, it had become overrun with mold.
The whole Duggar clan pitched in to gut the house, and with the boys doing the lion’s share of the grunt work, the ladies set out to decorate the home.
They didn’t go too far, though – as well as being the organizer, Jessa was also the decorator of the Duggar household and probably had some of her own ideas about how she wanted the house to look. Jessa was “blown away” by their efforts, however. “So gorgeous.”
Later, Josh and Anna announced their pregnancy as Jim Bob went about counting out their enormous family, which is now 29 strong and will soon be at 30 and 31 with the addition of Anna and Jessa’s children.
Fans of TLC’s hit show 19 Kids and Counting – which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET – can see the birth of Israel David on May 5 in advance of Mother’s Day.
