There's a festive new dating show on the horizon, just in time for prime holiday viewing.

This month, HBO Max will launch 12 Dates of Christmas, a holiday-themed spin on the genre featuring three leads, Chad, Faith and Garrett, introduced in PEOPLE's exclusive trailer and all searching for love.

Billed a "holiday rom-com come to life," 12 Dates is set at a luxurious castle in Austria and follows its three leads as they navigate a series of adventurous and romantic dates, with the goal of falling in love and bringing their new special someone home with them for the holidays.

Showrunner and executive producer Sam Dean (Love Is Blind) says 12 Dates is a great escape for viewers.

"It's a delightfully funny, entertaining and optimistic celebration of love and the holidays," Dean tells PEOPLE. "12 Dates of Christmas brings all of the elements we love in unscripted dating shows — romance and drama, love triangles, diversity of cast, escapism, optimism and hope, but packaged as a funny and entertaining reality romcom."

Dean adds: "We are very proud that our cast includes both gay and straight people, living together in their search for love."

The eight-episode series is narrated by Insecure's Natasha Rothwell, who is not afraid to make use of a festive pun or two. ("Will they sleigh goodbye or live merrily ever after?")

The first three episodes of 12 Dates of Christmas launch Nov. 26 on HBO Max, followed by the next three episodes one week later on Dec. 3. The final two episodes launch Dec. 10.
