Beyoncé: My mother owns a hair salon and sometimes I would work as a receptionist and sweep up hair.

Bill Rancic (The Apprentice): When I was in college, my buddies and I started a boat wash-and-wax business in New Buffalo, Mich. We were making $400 a day, I water-skied all the time, and I had the best tan of my life.

Lindsay Lohan: Babysitting. And I used to sell lemonade on the corner a lot.

Patricia Arquette: I was a peer counselor, going to schools talking about birth control. Once, I was talking about when a baby’s born, but I (accidentally) said, “The doctor cuts the spinal cord.”

Sharon Stone: Selling hot dogs as a teenager at the baseball fields near Meadville, Pa.

Nick Lachey: Singing at King’s Island. It was an easy job, it paid well and beat cutting grass.

Ann Curry (Today): Making watershed maps for the forest service.

Eve: I was in retail, working for commission at a jeans store. We had Diesel, Replay and cowboy boots. It was a hustle.

Denzel Washington: Supervising kids as a counselor at the Boys Club in my hometown, Mount Vernon, N.Y.

Will Ferrell: I definitely had summer jobs that I was not good at. I was a valet for cars. I left keys from someone’s car in another car. I did things like that.

Kid Rock: I sang a hamburger jingle once for some extra money.

Kelsey Grammer: I worked as a houseman at a hotel in Pompano Beach, Fla. I brushed the courts, did the laundry, fixed elevators and made beds for people.

Moby: I was a caddy at Wee Burn golf club in Darien, Conn., but I was 13 and too little to carry full bags, so they would give me really old people.

Phil Mickelson: When I was 8, I started picking up balls on a range in San Diego in exchange for free practice balls.

Aisha Tyler: Working at the Holey Bagel in San Francisco. I was 14 and an awful embezzler – I took so many bagels. I apologize now to the Holey Bagel people.

Alanis Morissette: Licking stamps and putting them on envelopes. I was 14, and I quickly realized that I wanted to be in the entertainment industry.

Josh Duhamel (Las Vegas): Josh’s Lawn Mowing Company. I made enough to have fun and gas money.

Mark Ruffalo: I was the fourth mate on a marlin fishing boat. I did all the grunt work, but it was great to be out in the ocean.

Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under): Doing theater in a barn and sleeping in corn fields in this town of 600 people in Vermont when I was 20.

Jack Black: Telemarketer. Age? 14.

Vivica A. Fox: When I was 17, I worked at Burger Chef in Indianapolis, and I was able to go shopping and buy my own things for the first time in my life.
