Former American Idol contestant Corey Clark went public last week with allegations that he had an affair with Idol judge Paula Abdul, who Clark says coached him on how to improve his performance on the FOX talent competition. Abdul issued a statement Friday saying, “I never respond to lies.” Meanwhile, Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said he would “thoroughly and fully” investigate the allegations, but added that the show planned to stand by Abdul.
