FAQs

Why does Sia hide her face?

Sia hides her face with wigs and bows to avoid being recognized and scrutinized. "I don't want to be famous, or recognizable," she told 'Nightline' in 2014. "I don't want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet."

What is "Chandelier" by Sia about?

Sia's "Chandelier" is about alcoholism and the darker side of partying, according to her 2014 interview with NPR. "I wrote the song because there's so many party-girl anthems in pop," Sia said. "And I thought it'd be interesting to do a different take on that."

What song did Sia write for Beyoncé?

Sia told 'Rolling Stone' in 2015 that she wrote 25 songs for Beyoncé's 2013 self-titled album, and only one track, "Pretty Hurts," made the cut. She also wrote Beyoncé's "Standing on the Sun," which was included on the self-titled album's platinum edition. Sia said "Footprints," off her own 2016 album, 'This is Acting,' was "a Beyoncé reject."
