Issa Rae

Issa Rae is an American actress, writer and producer. She rose to fame beginning in 2011 with her YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. Rae went on to top the The New York Times best-seller list with her memoir The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl (2015). She wrote and starred on HBO's Insecure (2016-2021), which earned her three Emmy Award nominations. Rae has also appeared in the films The Hate U Give (2018), Little (2019) and The Lovebirds (2020).
