You'll Never Believe What Ariana Grande Looks Like as a Blonde!

Ariana Grande is the princess of the high-half ponytail, but she just gave her signature look a Barbie-inspired upgrade. The pop singer debuted a brand new (lighter!) style on Instagram Wednesday (but don’t worry, that signature pony is still intact!).

The star has been teasing her new single, “Focus” on Instagram all week with small reveals of the cover art each day. She started by sharing super-pixilated shots then continued to improve the clarity every day, until finally she revealed the full, clear image, wearing a crop top, winged eyeliner, and drumroll … blonde hair!

Grande’s been a brunette since her Nickelodeon Sam & Cat days, when she damaged her natural hair by bleaching and dyeing it red for the show. She told fans in 2014 that her actual hair is “absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down.” She also explained why she always styles it in a pony, saying, “It’s all that works for now (and I’m comfortable for the first time in years).”

Based on the fact that she showed off her naturally curly hair last month it might mean her strands are healthy enough for color treatments again. But we have a feeling she’s just playing around with a platinum wig — or Photoshop! — for her new album cover. Either way, we’re totally digging her Malibu Barbie vibes.
