One of the many things we love about the holidays: engagement season kicks off in full force. Starting things off right is Whitney Port whose sparkler on that finger may be only hours old — but she’s already got dresses on the brain.
“I think it obviously depends what the theme of the wedding is,” Port told PEOPLE (on the set of her new web series Drab To Fab) of hunting for her gown. “What comes to mind is something simple. I’ve always envisioned that Cindy Crawford beach slip kind of dress, but who knows. I feel like you never know until you actually plan it.”
One thing she does know: “I won’t be wearing a cupcake wedding dress. I won’t be wearing one of those princess, fairytale kind of dresses. That’s a no.”
And with her fashion background (she has her own line Whitney Eve), Port definitely plans to design her own dress. “I know what cut works for me,” she shared. “It’s something so personal. That will be a really fun process for me.”
For now, the star just wants to focus on remembering this special time with fiancé Tim Rosenman. “I feel like I’m just trying to enjoy this part of the whole thing. My oldest sister is a wedding planner so she’s definitely trying to get the plans all going. I’m trying to live in the moment right. It’s super exciting. It’s obviously really surreal.”
Port, 28, started dating Rosenman, an associate producer from her MTV series The City, in 2012 after she split from fellow MTV star Ben Nemetin. And it sounds like Rosenman has fabulous taste in jewelry. “The ring is so big and beautiful,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It’s an oval shape. It’s stunning.”
