Get ready New York City — a very famous, fashionable princess is about to land on your doorstep. As excitement builds with just days to go until their royal arrival, Princess Kate and Prince William are in the last stages of preparing for their three-day whirlwind trip to New York City. And the question on everyone’s mind, okay, style editors’ minds: What exactly will the princess pack?

“She’ll mix the British designers she loves, Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham and Alice Temperley, with American heavyweights like Diane von Furstenburg, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors,” Sophie Goodwin,
Tatler
‘s Style Editor tells PEOPLE, adding, “It would be fun to see her experiment with the more youthful, untapped American brands including Jason Wu, Philip Lim and Thakoon.”

Of course, being five months pregnant only adds to the sartorial pressure.

“I’m sure she’ll still go for something form fitting and elegant at the gala dinner — floor-length, lace or satin, gathered at the waist, probably in black, dark red or peacock blue,” predicts London-based Goodwin. “And it would be a brilliant move to swap her trademark wedges for Converse,” she adds, in reference to their front row seats at the NBA basketball game on Monday.

With an ever-growing baby bump, will Kate be wearing maternity wear? Possibly, says her go-to maternity designer Cecile Reinaud, the founder of Seraphine. “I think she will embrace the maternity styles a little bit earlier in this pregnancy because the second time you show faster,” Reinaud tells PEOPLE.

But don’t expect to see anything recycled, even though Kate does love a good re-wear. “From one pregnancy to another, you really want something new to wear,” says Reinaud, who recently opened her first U.S. store.

With a jam-packed itinerary (a total of eight events will be attended by Kate) the expectant royal will need approximately 10 outfit changes over the course of the trip which kicks off on Sunday.

“I think we can expect something a bit more playful from her in New York,” says Goodwin.

We certainly hope so too. What are you hoping to see Kate in? Share your thoughts below.
