Saturday night: Like jumpsuits, formal shorts are a look that we have been hesitant to try. It takes the perfect blend of the right shorts, the right occasion and the right attitude to pull them off. Keri Russell has all those things in her corner making this cool outfit work at the N.Y.C. screening of Fargo, and she’s making us think we could do this too for a fun, casual, semi-sporty date night. (Bowling? Walking around a bustling downtown street and getting ice cream?) Her shorts aren’t circulation-cutting snug and her loose, low-cut top brings the right amount of sexy cool. And the shoes belong in our closet, like, yesterday.

If you’re not up to shorts, this outfit would look equally great with a striped mini or skinny jeans, but if you’re ready to take the plunge, try these Michael Michael Kors shorts with enough stretch to be comfortable, add your favorite tissue tee and blazer, and finish it all off with these pretty killer Topshop sandals.

Emmy Rossum skirt

Sunday Brunch: Emmy Rossum has that “casually cute” thing down to an art at this point. The pieces of her outfit are totally simple, but all put together, incredibly chic. Her A.L.C. sweater and flippy black skirt are feminine and effortless, and the accessories she adds — a delicate Pearl Collective necklace, Yosi Samra sandals and a structured black bag tie the whole look together perfectly.

J. Crew has a skirt with a similarly fluted hem for $98 (a little splurge-y but you’ll wear it all year round) and these $40 Circus by Sam Edelman sandals have that same graphic, clean appeal as Emmy’s.

Emma stone suit

Monday morning: Emma Stone continues to be the master of menswear, putting crisp tailored pieces with feminine accents that really make for memorable outfits. You could wear this satin tuxedo jacket, striped bow blouse and heels as she does, with jeans, if you work somewhere creative, or you could swap in tailored black pants or a pencil skirt to dress it up even more.

We love this $21 polka-dot bow blouse at JCPenney to layer under a tuxedo blazer like this $90 Mango number (a pretty good match, if we do say so ourselves!) Then follow your heart for the rest of the outfit from the waist down.

Tell us: Which look will you wear this weekend?
