People.com Lifestyle Style We Pick Dresses for Our Dream Clooney Wedding Guest List We may not be invited to George Clooney's Italian nuptials, but that didn't stop us from creating our fantasy guest list – and picking the outfits we'd want them to wear! Dear George and Amal's wedding planner, you can thank us later By Alex Apatoff Alex Apatoff Instagram Twitter Alex Apatoff is the Executive Editor of PEOPLE Digital. We already know Clooney’s costar from The Descendants isn’t afraid of a crop top or bold colors. But perhaps the real reason I chose this look for Woodley is because she could wear her footwear of choice – barefoot running shoes – and keep them covered up so as not to steal the bride’s thunder. 02 of 08 CINDY CRAWFORD Matt Baron/BEImages Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: Since the supermodel’s husband was seen loading up a jet with tequila from the line he co-owns with Clooney, we think it’s likely the power couple will be among the guests at the big event. And I picture the ’90s catwalker in something all-American, like this amazing Ralph Lauren gown from the designer’s new spring 2015 collection. The body-hugging silhouette will look amazing on her and the beaded neckline makes it feel festive. 03 of 08 JULIA ROBERTS Jason Merritt/Getty Loni Venti, Style and Beauty Writer: While characters in Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve weren’t exactly style icons, they did make me wonder why the star never wears pink. The hue looks gorg with her skin and hair! So if I were hypothetically dressing Julia as a hypothetical guest at George Clooney’s wedding, I’d put her in something pink, like this dreamy Oscar de la Renta strapless number from the Spring runways. Even if Julia wouldn’t pick it for herself, we’d like to think she’d appreciate the nod to the time she played Mrs. George Clooney onscreen. 04 of 08 BETTY WHITE David Livingston/Getty Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: You may remember Clooney from his star-making turn on The Golden Girls and literally nothing else. I’m assuming that he and Betty have been best friends and pen pals since his 1987 cameo on my favorite sitcom, which is why I’m also assuming she’ll be giving Amal racy advice at the reception in this floral Victoria Beckham pantsuit. 05 of 08 JULIANNA MARGULIES Jeff Vespa/WireImage Ana Calderone, Editorial Assistant: The Good Wife star and Clooney go all the way back to his ER days, so I imagine Margulies has been on the hunt for the perfect Clooney Wedding Guest Dress since the mid-’90s. And this J. Mendel design from the Spring 2015 collection checks off all of her favorite components in a gown. It s strapless and black, making it a recipe for sartorial success. 06 of 08 SANDRA BULLOCK Steve Granitz/WireImage Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant: Nothing brings two friends closer than sharing near-death experiences in space, which is why I picture reading a deep passage from the Gravity script before vows are exchanged. And then I’m thinking she’s going to hit the dance floor hard in this plunging, pretty Jenny Packham number – just a little more elegant than a space suit. 07 of 08 CATHERINE ZETA-JONES Splash News Online Catherine Kast, Style Writer: When Clooney and Catherine starred opposite each other in 2003’s Intolerable Cruelty, she wore several curve-hugging red dresses. (While we’re here, just watch the trailer to jog your memory). Sure, people often say that red shouldn’t be worn at weddings, but in honor of Clooney being taken off the market, all the sexiest women alive should show up in over-the-top looks. This Carolina Herrera gown from the Spring 2015 collection is show-stopping without being too much (no bling!), and would certainly hug the star in all the right places. 08 of 08 CATE BLANCHETT Ethan Miller/Getty Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer: is many things: Academy Award winner, ethereal elf queen, lady. As such, I would expect her to excel at the art of black-tie elegance (I do imagine this will be a formal fête for George and Amal). She’ll raise a glass to her costar in The Good German and The Monuments Men, appearing like a Roman goddess among her peers in a modest, waist-cinching silhouette by one of her favorite designers, Valentino. And though this blush hue approaches bridal white territory, only Cate could pull it off without making a style misstep.
