7 Reasons Adriana Lima Is the Guardian Angel of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
The VS vet is everyone's BFF
Adriana Lima walked her first Victoria’s Secret runway in 1999. Since then she’s not only earned her wings, but she’s become one of the brand’s ultimate ambassador’s and a role model for all the young models with dreams to follow in her lingerie-clad footsteps.
Tonight Lima will walk in her 17th show for the brand, and it’s clear her impact now is greater than ever before. Below the photographic evidence that she’s the VS Fashion Show’s Guardian Angel.
1. She’s Always There to Support the Younger Generation
Lima stood by Kendall Jenner when doing press for the show, putting that whole supermodel debate to bed. “I have worked with Kendall on runways before when we were in Europe, like Versace and also with Victoria’s Secret … Kendall is very sweet and very nice, and it’s always pleasant to work with someone like that,” she told E! News. “You know, she works as hard as we do, so I give her credit for all the effort. And I think she is going to do great because Victoria’s Secret is all about personality, and she has her own personality.”
2. And VS Newbies Admire Her
Gigi was so moved by the modeling vet, she gushed about her on Instagram.
“Words can’t describe this woman’s powerful heart and spirit. She continues to lead the group with empowering confidence, grace, and infectious enthusiasm. ? I’m so honored and grateful to know and work with you @adrianalima!! Thank you for your love and support.”
3. She Shares Her Magic on the Runway
Even The Weeknd was touched by the Angel during his performance.
4. She Always Has Time for Selfies
The model doesn’t turn anyone away backstage.
5. She Leads the Finale Walk
Seriously, she’s like the Pied Piper of Paris!
6. The Other Angels Look to Her for Posing Tips
7. She’s Allowed to Experiment with Her Hair
Bombshell waves may be the signature VS model look, but when you’re Adriana Lima, you can wear French braids.
