Lifestyle Style Vanessa Hudgens Reveals Her New Drastic Hair Cut Is Because 'I'm an Extremist' The star switched up her look just in time to co-host the Billboard Music Awards this weekend with Ludacris By Kaitlyn Frey Kaitlyn Frey Instagram Twitter Assistant Style & Beauty Editor, PEOPLE People Editorial Guidelines Published on May 18, 2017 12:58 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos INSTAR Vanessa Hudgens isn’t afraid to switch up her hair, and her latest big change proves it. The star, who’s co-hosting the Billboard Music Awards this weekend with Ludacris decided the big gig was the perfect occasion for her to chop her strands into a chin-length bob. Because when it comes to haircuts, she’s fearless. “I’m just an extremist when it comes to hair,” Hudgens tells PeopleStyle days before appearing on the music awards show. “I either like it above my shoulders or at my belly button so it’s a constant flip-flop between the two.” This look, though, was because “I just wanted to mix it up [and] chic it out a little.” Hudgens turned to hairstylist and co-owner of L.A.’s Nine Zero One salon Nikki Lee to create her chop. Lee is a pro when it comes to creating these trendy styles, as she also works celebs like Emma Roberts and Lea Michele. To debut her look on Instagram, Hudgens captioned the photo “On she short!” RELATED PHOTOS: 6 Iconic Beauty Products That Inspired New Versions (and Yes, They’re Amazing!) After years of going to the salon and getting her tresses tended to by Lee and her partner celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri, Hudgens says she never feels nervous leaving her hair in their hands. “I totally trust them I feel like they know what they’re doing,” she continues. “I go to them with an idea of what I want and they cue it up perfectly.” So, does she ever have any hair regrets? “I don’t have hair regrets,” she says. “I love changing my hair. It changes constantly.” Only time will tell what’s next. — With reporting by Karen Mizoguchi Do you love Vanessa’s new ‘do? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
