Vanessa Hudgens' $190 Coachella Mani Took 3 Hours and Features Pot Leaves and Swarovski Crystals
All the exclusive details on the festival queen's tricked out tips
The Queen of Coachella is back at it again with the tricked out manis. Festival prep is underway for Vanessa Hudgens, who visited Beverly Hills salon Laqué Nail Bar on Tuesday for a major manicure ahead of Coachella 2016 this weekend. PeopleStyle caught up with Laqué owner Marina Torosian, who dished all the exclusive scoop on the star’s festive digits.
“When she originally called and booked the appointment, she had a vision of what she wanted,” Torosian said of the inspiration behind the manicure. “She didn’t bring in a photo, but she was looking at some of our photos and she picked some detailing and stones from our lookbooks.”
Vanessa is wearing OPI gel color Ice-Bergers and Fries with a Laqué brand matte top coat. But that’s just the beginning. The real manicure magic starts once all the 3D extras are applied.
Those big sparkling gems you see are actual Swarovski crystals. The clusters cost $15 each and are featured on four of Vanessa’s fingers, not to mention the smaller flat back stones at the base of her nail beds.
And don’t let the pot leaves on her ring fingers confuse you. They are not stick-on decals, but the steady handiwork of Hudgens’ manicurist.
“The pot leaves were actually drawn on with Vetro polish — it’s one of their signatures called Rose Gold Leaf,” Torosian shares.
How long does such an intricate mani take you may ask? A very long time.
“Vanessa came in at 7:30 and left about 10:15,” Torosian said of the process. “She was in love with it. She couldn’t stop looking at it. She was super excited.” (The actress also got a pedicure at the same time and went with her sister Stella Hudgens, so she had someone to keep her occupied.)
As for the cost, that exact mani with the fill, the gel polish, nail art add ons and reshaping set Hudgens back $190, according to Torosian. And it will last the star for at least two weeks.
The store owner shared that Coachella season is a busy time at the salon and a lot of girls are requesting emoji faces, rainbow looks, and of course, pot leaves.

The star’s 20-year-old sister went a bit more understated with a lavender mani courtesy of OPI’s gel color Taupe-less Beach with the same matte polish on top. Her nails took about 30 minutes less, and featured Swarovski crystals and more ornate pearl appliqués on her ring fingers for $10 each. The grand total? $105.

Now that Hudgens’ extensions are in place and her mani is complete all that’s left to wonder is how many crochet crop tops she’ll wear this weekend.
