Vanderpump Rules Star Katie Maloney on Planning Her Wedding (She Has Three Pinterest Boards in the Works)

Find out how Tom Schwartz popped the question

If last night’s Vanderpump Rules premiere didn’t quite give you your fix, good news: We have all the details on Katie Maloney’s engagement ring from Tom Schwartz (which is quite a stunner) and wedding dress scoop (no, she isn’t planning on going with a crop top).

Over the summer, longtimes loves Maloney and Schwartz finally made it official with a gleaming pear-shape champagne diamond from Kyle Chan Designs.

“He did a really good job,” Maloney tells PeopleStyle about Schwartz’s choice. “I definitely gave him not-so-subtle hints about the components that I wanted. But since our friend Kyle Chan designed it, I knew it was all going to be good. It’s better than I could have ever dreamed. But of course I equipped [fellow Rules star] Scheana Marie and other friends with some information just in case he asked.”

And happily, he did ask — and while they were filming an episode, which she loved. “I almost blacked out a little bit. I’m glad I get to watch it back and see it all go down again and actually be able to hear what he was saying,” she explains. “When it hit me that it was happening I didn’t see it coming. And I had to keep telling myself to pay attention.”

Right now she’s enjoying her engagement and putting the big day on the back burner. “I haven’t started [wedding planning] yet. We’ve been together for so long and we’ve been waiting for this next step for a while now and I want to enjoy it,” she shares. “With the show finishing wrapping I just can’t quite switch gears yet. I might wait until after the holidays.”

But there are a few things she does know for sure — it’s going to be a small wedding (150 guests at most) and her dress is going to be anything but poufy. “I definitely like lace and vintage and I know I want sleeves,” she says. “Anything that’s ethereal, ivory, flowy. I have a Pinterest board — I have three different weddings planned on Pinterest with different themes.”

Outside of her time filming and serving at Sur, she’s focused on building her blog, Pucker & Pout. “I’ve always been the go-to friend for beauty questions and since I’m a product whore, I’m just a beacon of beauty knowledge,” she says about her love of all things makeup. “I spent all of my allowance on makeup, I spend all of my tip money now on makeup — it’s a passion of mine.”

In addition to beauty roundups that target all price points and skin concerns, she’s focusing on driving the blog to the next step, including bringing on new contributors with different personalities, plus video tutorials: “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” she says.

Even though some Vanderpump cast members have already made a Pucker & Pout cameo (Scheana has modeled!) the offer’s still out to Tom Sandoval to write about his intricate manscaping process (as superfans know, he gets very serious about his styling). “He just not interested right now, but he’s the perfect one for it,” says Maloney. Tom, if you’re listening, we’re ready to make that post go viral.
