Now here’s something to cheer about: Polo Ralph Lauren will be the official U.S. Team outfitter for the Vancouver
Olympics! In 2006, the U.S. Delegation for the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, donned clothing made by Roots, a Canadian company. Now, that the Games are heading to Vancouver, the U.S. Team will switch back to an all-American brand. Polo Ralph Lauren, who is the official village wear and apparel brand for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams, is kicking off its presence in a big way with updated versions of traditional red and navy down jackets and wool knit caps for the opening ceremony on Feb. 12. The company “has outfitted the team with a timeless look, one that fellow American’s will be proud to wear,” said Lisa Baird, the United States Olympic Committee’s marketing officer. “They truly understand the honor bestowed upon Team USA athletes who will represent our nation.” But the athletes aren’t the only ones that get to wear Team U.S.A. gear— the U.S. Olympic Collection can be found in department stores across the U.S, and Canada as well as on Prices range from $10- $495. –Cynthia Wang
