Love makeup? Love empowering other women? Well, lucky for you, Essence magazine is bringing you the best of both worlds with its Essence Beauty Box and new social campaign, #GenGorgeous — just in time for Mother’s Day!

The glossy’s social campaign, #GenGorgeous, which teams with its monthly makeup subscription service, Beauty Box, celebrates women and the beauty advice they’ve received from their mothers throughout the years. The inspiring black-and-white video series features nine influencers, including TV personality Alicia Quarles and Essence‘s own hair and beauty editor Deena Campbell.

“When you’re happy on the inside, you’re radiant on the outside,” Quarles says, when asked for her definition of beauty, in the inspiring video above.
