Her golden locks are thick, healthy and flourishing
From adorable singing duets with her teenage grandson Julez to ‘corney joke time,’ Tina Knowles Lawson’s Instagram account is one of our favorites to follow on the ‘gram. Primarily because the grandmother of four, keeps it all the way real and loves brag about her family.
So when she took to Instagram to gush about the length and health of “her baby’s” hair, it seemed safe to assume that she was talking about Beyoncé’s. While you can’t see the woman’s face (her back is turned in the picture), the honey-highlighted tresses look nearly identical to those of the Lemonade singer.
“INCHES!!!! So happy my baby’s hair grew back !! She is going to get me,” Lawson posted under the picture.
Standing in a closet with her hair tied into a chic low pony, the woman in question shows off glorious healthy natural hair. If this is in fact Beyoncé, this might be the first time we’ve seen, with confirmation, her natural hair.
Shortly after Mama Tina shared the image, Beyoncé then posted several pictures of herself on her Instagram in which it looks like she’s rocking her natural hair.
Some commenters seemed to doubt Lawson’s claim that it was all Beyoncé’s natural hair, while others came to the star’s defense, and her longtime hairstylist Neal Farinah posted a video that appeared to be in response to the ongoing discussion.
“Underneath the wigs and weaves, black women have the most beautiful curly hair,” Neal Farinah said, while not referencing his client directly. “The myth of black women not having hair–-you think again because they have some of the most beautiful textured hair.”
