Tina & Amy's Best Moments of All Time
1. THE 2014 GOLDEN GLOBES
These two funny ladies don’t let any actors get buy without a playful jab, joking about love life (“And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio”), weight loss for Dallas Buyers Club (“He lost 45 pounds, or what actresses call being in a movie”) and penchant for younger women (“Gravity” is nominated for best film. Taking a cue from , Poehler takes advantage of her big win for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy for Parks and Recreation by planting one big smooch on U2 rocker Bono (from her comfy perch on his lap). As for how her boyfriend Nick Kroll feels? “Hey Bono, watch your back,” Tweets the comedian.
3. THE 2013 EMMY AWARDS
In a comedy bit with , the glam duo chomp on popcorn and heckle the Emmy host from their front-row seats, demanding he twerk and remove his pants. When he refuses, calling it “degrading,” Poehler retorts, “It might be degrading but we would be degrateful.”
4. THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBES
After Girls Lena Dunham wins best actress in a comedy, beating out the two co-hosts, she thanks them for “comforting me at the darkest moments of my life.” Fey and Poehler return to the stage, swigging consolation drinks. “Congratulations, Lena,” says Fey, sarcastically, “I’m glad we got you through middle school.”
5. THE 2013 GOLDEN GLOBES
Continuing in their “drunken” stupor, Fey and Poehler take a jab at Taylor Swift s breakups-as-fodder-for-hit-songs rep. “You know what, Taylor Swift,” cautions Fey, “you stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son,” that year s Mr. Golden Globe. “Or,” encourages Poehler, “go for it.”
6. SNL: 'WEEKEND UPDATE' WITH LINDSAY LOHAN
In this 2005 skit, and Amy Poehler join forces to mentor teen guest , their Mean Girls costar who had a reputation for late-night shenanigans. In digging for dirt on the young actress, the anchors are concerned, nosy, inappropriate – and totally hilarious.
7. SNL: SARAH PALIN VS. HILLARY CLINTON
Two months before the 2008 presidential election, the SNL season opener features Fey in a spot-on impersonation of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin and Poehler channeling a sensational Hillary Clinton. The women debate global warming, hockey moms and the surprising view out the window from Palin’s Wasilla, Alaska, home.
8. BABY MAMA
The big-screen comedy Baby Mama stars Poehler as a wacky, working-class woman hired to carry a baby for Fey, a successful but infertile entrepreneur. Though the characters are polar opposites, they do agree on at least one thing: Vegetable spray needn’t be limited to cooking.
9. THE 2008 EMMY AWARDS
And the award for best banter by co-presenters goes to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler! Fey plays the straight man to Poehler’s goofball as they hand out a comedy award during the live telecast.
10. SNL: KATIE COURIC INTERVIEWS SARAH PALIN
A parody of an actual CBS News interview that aired days earlier, this takeoff features Fey reprising her role as a perky Sarah Palin for a sit-down with Poehler’s somber Katie Couric. Together they prove that politics makes funny bedfellows.
11. MAX 60 SEC
It’s a sign of a healthy collaboration when partners can still surprise and delight each other. While interviewing Fey on this video show, Poehler is so smitten with one of her BFF’s creative responses, she high-fives her and suggests ending the interview right then and there.
12. LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON
After inquisitively pushing an elevator button labeled “Jersey Floor,” the girls morph from the Amy and Tina we know and love into tough, tanned, big-haired broads stalking Fallon and friends.
13. SNL: 'WEEKEND UPDATE' JOKE-OFF
Fey teams with Jimmy Fallon, while Poehler aligns with Seth Meyers in a “joke-off” to see who can make the best strip-club puns. The winners (to us): the gals’ improvised buzzer noises.
14. NIGHT OF TOO MANY STARS
At a Comedy Central auction benefit, the comediennes agreed to go on a date with the highest bidder. They cajole the audience to go higher and higher, and two lucky ladies win – after bidding $36,000 each!
15. THE GOLDEN GLOBES AWARDS PROMO
The girls dress to the nines and adopt “classic Hollywood” accents to promote their hosting stint on the Golden Globes. If the promo is this good, imagine how much fun the actual show will be!
