Between the famous front rows and the outrageous street style outside the tents, the fashion on the runways can feel like it’s being overlooked. So here are the three things you shouldn’t miss from some of our favorite shows over the past few days.
Alexander Wang ponytails: Wang’s spring show — the last before he takes over the helm at Balenciaga — was hotly anticipated by insiders. And while the clothes lived up to the hype, the hair was really what had editors buzzing. Redken creative director Guido pulled models’ hair back into a slick pony with the line’s “Hardwear 16” gel, then attached red extensions for a long, dramatic two-tone look. Since ombré’s been hot in Hollywood for a while now, we expect to see this next-level look on red carpets soon.
Carolina Herrera gowns: Paging Amy Adams! We’ve just found your Oscars dress. Jessica Chastain showed how good a redhead can look in this hue, so we’d love to see Adams in this plunging, dramatic crimson creation by one of her favorite designers. She can recycle her BAFTAs do, add some diamond studs and call it a day. Wasn’t that easy?
Tracy Reese’s literal “catwalk”: Apparently dogs aren’t the only ones trying to conquer the world of pet fashion. One of Michelle Obama‘s favorite designers teamed up with Purina ONE to put a leash-trained cat on her runway. Why the fine feline? “Cats have a lot of energy, which was the perfect complement to the models and my new line,” Reese said in a statement. That’s quite a “tail!”
