She’s been killing it on the red carpet during her Les Misérables promo tour in gorgeous Alexander McQueen gowns, but at home, Amanda Seyfried‘s go-to outfit includes a pair of, um, very worn-in pants. In fact, she loves them so much that she even found a DIY way to salvage them.

“Alexander Wang made some black cashmere pants that are my go-tos. I only have one pair, and they’re moth-eaten,” Seyfried reveals in the January issue of InStyle. “I went to crochet class and learned how to make cashmere patches for them.” Now that’s dedication.

And while she learned to crochet to save her favorite piece of clothing, Seyfried knits because she needs something do while she’s working out … and playing a game … and listening to music. “I have to do lots of things at the same time. It’s an obsessive-compulsive thing,” she explains. “So when I’m on the elliptical machine, which I do almost every day, I have to be knitting, playing Sudoku and listening to things.” We’re tired just thinking about it!
