This weekend’s Sundance Film Festival brought more than just celebrities in sleek coats to the red carpet. Stars, including Kerry Washington, Lena Dunham and Maude Apatow served up some serious mane envy in Park City, Utah, and we’ve got all the details, below.
Washington, who’s been rocking a mid-length cut for months, debuted a shorter, edgier chop at HBO’s Confirmation screening on Saturday. The edgy cut, which was courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims, appears to be a textured, side-swept layered bob with a whole lot of movement.
“Last nights gig w my #Scandalocious Stunner @kerrywashington #Sundance #Simstyled #Chopped 🙌🏾💯✌🏾️,” the star’s hair guru said on Instagram.
The Scandal star wore her short new do side-swept with a sleek cropped leather top, high-slit skirt and knee-high boots, rounding out her stylish winter wardrobe for the cold-weather event.

Washington wasn’t the only celeb to mix it up on the red carpet. Dunham, who typically wears her pixie slightly unkept, dressed up her do with a few festive plaits, with the help of hairstylist Matt Fugate.
Dunham’s do, which consists of two side-by-side braids twisted to resemble the shape of a heart, was the perfect set of accessories to pair with her starry sweater and pretty pink lip.
And lastly, Judd Apatow’s oldest daughter, Maude, showed off a choppy new do while promoting her new film, Other People, during the weekend film festival.
The 17-year-old actress teamed her short style — a youthful, chin-grazing bob — with a high-neck Rebecca Minkoff sweater, button-up skirt and boots for the photo call.
Before the bob, Apatow was living in lob territory with a slightly longer cut, and also previously wore her hair past her shoulders, a look similar to her mom’s (Leslie Mann) long, sleek style.
