Amedeo M. Turello/Principality of Monaco

The high-fashion pageantry of Sweden’s Princess Victoria’s wedding weekend has whet our appetite for the next royal nuptials–namely, that of newly betrothed couple HRH Prince Albert II of Monaco and South African beauty Charlène Wittstock. In the official engagement portrait released Wednesday, the statuesque blond wears a lovely sea-green halter dress from Swiss label Akris, yet our eyes are drawn to her left hand and her stunning engagement ring. Created by Parisian jewelry house Maison Repossi, the sparkler–the jeweler’s Téthys design–is a pear-shaped center diamond set in gray gold and embellished with round diamond brilliants. Tell us: What do you think of Charlene’s engagement ring? –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley; reporting by Peter Mikelbank
