Confession: We wish Emily Current and Meritt Elliott would come over and dress us every day. The celeb stylists are responsible for the looks of stars like Mandy Moore, Nikki Reed and Lucy Hale — and just seem super-cool, to boot.

They’re denim experts, as well, known for the line Current/Elliott, and share their jean wisdom in the October pages of PEOPLE StyleWatch (it’s our denim issue, if you haven’t heard!). So as an added bonus, we got them to pick their five must-have pieces for fall. Be sure to bookmark this page; you’re going to want to buy everything!

1. Leather Leggings
“Stretch leather pants are so comfortable and wearable,” the ladies share. “They’re an instant way to update your favorite sweater or add a more polished and luxurious look to a simple tee.” A basic ankle-length pair will show off your shoes, though the stylists love edgier versions with zippers and hardware, too. And if leather is too pricey, try faux leather or coated denim. “They’ll give you the same look at half the price,” they say.

Splurge (real): Current/Elliott “The Skinny” zip-cuff leather leggings (above), $974
Save (faux): Free People vegan leather skinny pants, $128

2. Camo or Army Jacket
“Camo and army are back and cooler than ever,” they say. “We saw utilitarian influences all over the runway, and an easy jacket is the perfect way to embrace this trend.” For a transitional look, “try popping one on over a dress, or pair with leather pants,” they suggest.

Splurge: Zara cape with stud detailing, $89.90
Save: Zara camouflage overshirt, $79.90

3. Denim Shirt
“We love denim in every way, and it’s as amazingly versatile on top as it is on bottom,” the stylists explain. “This classic piece makes skirts less dressy and giant necklaces seem ironic and playful.”

Splurge: Marc by Marc Jacobs chambray shirt, $198
Save: J.Crew “Keeper” chambray shirt (above), $78

4. Single Sole Pump
“We love a statement shoe as much as anyone, but all of a sudden a demure, refined pump makes even your most casual look more relevant,” they share. “Try a simple black or even a fun color or print, like leopard or snake.”

Splurge: Manolo Blahnik snakeskin BB, $865
Save: Sam Edelman ‘Danielle’ pump (above), $119.95

5. Statement Pouch-Style Clutch
“Of all the places to try wild prints or colors, a pouch-style clutch is the place to do it,” they explain. “Whether it’s sparkles, pom poms, neons or stripes, get playful and daring!”

Splurge: Clare Vivier stripe flat clutch, $173
Save: ASOS pom pom fringe clutch bag (above), $68.98
