To stay in shape while touring with country star George Strait this summer, Julianne Hough is all about having “mandatory fun.” “We’ve been playing wiffle ball and ultimate Frisbee and stuff,” says the Dancing with the Stars pro. “With [my dog] Lexi, we go up and down the stairs at the amphitheater and run across the lawn.” And when it comes to late-night eating, the singer steers clear of snacking on pizza and sweets. “My biggest thing is just don’t eat too much, finish when you’re full, eat when you want and then you’ll be fine,” she says. – Serena Kappes and Katie Kauss

Katie Holmes, who’s been working up a sweat onstage for her appearance on So You Think You Can Dance, has been spotted sipping the 10-calorie Celsius sparkling beverage offstage. Made with green tea, chromium and Vitamins B and C, the drinks (which come in five flavors, including wild berry and lemon-lime) reportedly raise metabolism for sustained energy and burn calories. And Celsius (which retails for $2 each and is sold at stores including GNC and Vitamin Shoppe) is formulated with a touch of ginger, known for its digestive properties. – Maureen Harrington

Sarah Michelle Gellar is staying fit throughout her first pregnancy thanks to private 55-minute sessions, two to three times a week, at New York City’s Real Pilates Studio. “She’s a rock star,” says the studio s founder, Alycea Ungaro. “She’s over the moon [about the baby], but very practical – she’s about taking care of herself.” The trainer’s fit tips for moms-to-be include strengthening the hips, glutes and abs as well as incorporating exercises like side-lying legwork. “Baby care requires a tremendous amount of stooping as you cradle the baby and push a stroller,” says Ungaro. “So I work with my moms-to-be on strengthening the upper back muscles.” – Kristen Mascia

Even after whittling her body down to a trim and healthy 123 lbs. thanks to the Jenny Craig meal plan and regular exercise (after tipping the scales at 172 lbs. two years ago), Valerie Bertinelli wasn’t going to rest on her laurels. Ever goal-oriented, the actress set her sights on a once-unattainable fitness milestone: running a half-marathon, which she did last Sunday in the 13.1-mile Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half-Marathon. “I am in amazement,” she says about clocking in at an impressive 2:12:19. “I can’t believe what a body can do if you believe in it.” – Elizabeth Leonard
