INCREASE YOUR FOOD IQ
Gilles Marini is living proof that ballroom dancing does a body good. But even before the hunky French actor started strutting his stuff on Dancing with the Stars, he said au revoir to carbs – and saw a huge difference. “In 2005 I cut out bread, pasta [and] rice. I lost 25 lbs. over the course of a summer,” he says. “Nutrition is more than half of what determines your physique. MAKE FITNESS FUN
The Hills stars Lauren Conrad and Stephanie Pratt recently laced up their roller skates for a fun evening out – and a good workout! Breaking a sweat doesn’t have to be a downer, after all. Reebok recently conducted a fitness survey of women around the world with two-thirds of participants responding that they’d be more apt to work out if it was more enjoyable. Gyms aren’t the only solution: Try out activities that appeal to you – Hip-hop dancing? In-line skating? – and you’ll find that being active doesn’t have to be a chore. ADD SOME 'MAGIC' TO YOUR DIET
Alicia Silverstone wants to spread the word about how certain healing “magic foods” can boost your health. The actress is writing a book, The Kind Diet, which details some of her go-to staples – including seaweed, which is rich in calcium and B vitamins. “It makes your skin look amazing and your hair really strong,” says Silverstone. “One of the recipes in my book is leftover nori (a type of seaweed) wraps. Anything in the fridge I want to use up, I shove into nori. It’s delicious.” Read Health.com for the benefits of chowing down on superfoods! – Thailan Pham

BE GOAL-ORIENTED
Jumpstarting your summer shape-up plan doesn’t have to be complicated. Just begin with a realistic goal. “It doesn’t matter how profound or how shallow you think your goal is,” says The Biggest Loser’s tough-love trainer Jillian Michaels. “If it motivates you, that’s all that matters.” One of her suggestions? Keep a food journal. “Write down everything you ate and at the end of the day, enter your foods into an online calorie counter. That way, you won’t forget about that handful of M&M’s!” For more tips on cutting calories, go to Health.com! – Archana Ram
