First up, Kylie Jenner. The first-timer stuck to the hottest hue of the night (sparkly silver) in a custom Balmain gown for the carpet and for her late-night switch, kept the structured theme strong in a front-zip Balmain long-sleeve mini with thigh-high boots.

Lady Gaga‘s swap was the most subtle from her first look — if you can call  a shiny mini dress and sky-high platforms subtle. Her red carpet choice gave us flashbacks to her early days thanks to her Atelier Versace bustier and beaded bolero jacket. But it was her afterparty ensemble that was full-on “Monster Ball.” She ditched the Wolford fishnets, kept on her towering lace-ups and brought the glam in a disco ball-inspired Atelier Versace onesie.

As Kate Hudson, the master of reminding us of her impressive abs knows, the only possible way to top an obliques-baring Atelier Versace gown? Another white gown with more sexy skin-baring cutouts.

Next, the Knowles sisters, who definitely stuck to their signature aesthetics on and off the carpet. Solange chose pleats upon pleats the entire night, first wearing a bright yellow ruffle number with matching footless tights, then changed into a cream crinkled two-piece sweatshirt and matching pant. While Beyoncé went super-tight on the carpet in a slaytex gown covered with beading by Givenchy Haute Couture, but went way more casual after in a black tank and a metallic wide-leg pant.

And finally, Katy Perry changed into a shorter “cousin” to her over-the-top embellished Prada gown, and managed to one-up her already super-on-point accessory game First, she carried a couple-coordinating Tamagotchi (with Orlando Bloom!) during the event and for the afterparty? She wore a pin labeled, “Not Becky” effectively squashing any and all Lemonade rumors.
