The Best Dressed Stars on the Red Carpet
This isn’t the first oversize at-the-hip bow to make it onto an awards show best dressed list, but it might be the best. wows (and surprises) us with her high-slit, high-shine green Lanvin, accessorized with nothing but metallic Jimmy Choo heels, a gold clutch and an antique Fred Leighton snake bangle.
Some dresses cause debates among style editors as to whether or not they deserve to be included in the best dressed list. This is not one of those dresses. We were all in agreement that deep-blue Antonio Berardi dress with its unique neckline, cutout shoulder and metallic belt deserved a spot here.
For the second year in a row, goes with our gown suggestion! And the multicolor sequin Dior Haute Couture looks as good on her as we knew it would.
We’re not used to seeing her in plunging gowns (not on the red carpet and certainly not on Downton Abbey), but we like this new neckline on Michelle. She stuns in the seriously low-cut black-and-white J. Mendel design with a high slit, plus coordinating two-tone Gianvito Rossi heels.
“I feel very Jessica Rabbit,” said of her cleavage-baring silver Donna Karan Atelier gown. And as if all those sequins weren’t enough sparkle, she adds one of the most over-the-top emerald-and-diamond necklaces we’ve ever seen.
Two things we won’t soon get over: Emilia’s chemistry-filled moment with Jared Leto and her gilded sequin one-shoulder Calvin Klein Collection gown, which perfectly hugs the Game of Thrones actress’s body.
One-of-a-kind. Sure, that applies to the best supporting actress winner, but in this case, we’re talking about her custom turquoise Gucci gown. And we’re not the only ones into the striking design featuring a mini train and not-so-mini floral embroidery at the neckline: The look earned a 95% approval rating from you all!
Another star who got a nearly perfect style score from viewers at home, keeps it classy in a simple midnight-blue Max Mara dress, accessorized with a patent belt and major David Webb danglers.
Two words came to mind when we spotted this look: personal best. The nominee perfectly coordinates a bright-red Michael Kors sweetheart gown featuring a contrasting black band at the waist with her bold lip color, just the kind of matchy-matchiness we can get on board with.
