Behind the Scenes of Megan Hilty's Tony Awards Glam
The Finished Product!
Here's how you know Megan Hilty is a fabulous actress: She's fighting jet lag (she just got off a plane from Australia three hours before) and she's got nomination nerves (she was up for best featured actress in a play for Noises Off) – but she looks stunning and totally serene. Check out the photos to see what went into getting her looking this glamorous in her Matthew Christopher dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Prep in Time
Fresh off her 20+ hour flight from Australia, the star arrived at the Empire Hotel at 4:30 to meet hair and makeup artist Bruce Wayne, who – like the fictional Bruce Wayne (a.k.a. Batman) – was incredibly prepared for the task.
Megan helps her makeup team multitask by applying a nude polish by SCOUT she picked up in Australia.
In the Shadows
“Sipping Earl Gray tea with a bit of honey, as I just got off a plane,” she says. “I'm trying to sit back and relax and let the wonderful Bruce Wayne work his magic. And oh yes, I did my own nails so they are drying!”
Even though she was trying to relax, the star still picked up the mascara wand to lend a hand while her hair set.
Sparkle and Shine
“My husband Brian classes me up with a piece of Tiffany & Co. jewelry… I feel like a million bucks!”
Good to Go!
“Finishing touches on my hair, as my husband Brian is putting on his shoes in the background!”
The finishing touch on the star's bombshell look? A seashell-shaped clutch she nabbed in Australia while en route to her flight, by Amina Al Abbasi – and she loved it so much, she gave the brand a shout on Twitter!
