And the bride wore Valentino! For her Feb. 14 nuptials to actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter walked down the aisle in a custom Valentino couture creation (as we predicted!), and it looks like she was very involved in the design process.

Hunter, 36, collaborated with Valentino Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli on the long-sleeve creation, featuring intricate lace work and a beautiful train. And the high-neck gown elegantly draped over her baby bump. (PEOPLE confirmed in January that the couple is expecting a Cumber-baby and both stars “are over the moon.”) The mom-to-be was photographed during her fitting by Annie Leibovitz for
Vogue
, and she tells the magazine all about the inspiration behind her dress (Anna Karenina and unicorns are mentioned!) in the April issue.

In January, Hunter attended the Valentino Haute Couture show with Anna Wintour (who has become a bridal consultant to many celebrity brides including Amal Clooney), which was an early sign she would wear a gown by the label for her big day.

The theater director married the Sherlock actor in a private ceremony on the Isle of Wight in England on Valentine’s Day.
