The message focuses on Madewell’s fun fall offerings — jeans and versatile tops — and how customers can blend it all to make inventive outfits of their own. According to the company, “Solange’s great style mix-matched perfectly with Madewell’s aesthetic.”
The starlet — already a face of Carol’s Daughter and Rimmel London — tells PEOPLE she keeps textures, shapes and silhouettes in mind when playing with her own wardrobe. “I know that because I wear so much color and print, I might not want to mix so many textures,” she says. “I am also attentive to my body. I love the way some of the oversized, extremely exaggerated, boxy proportions look on some girls … but it just doesn’t work for me.”
Her hair — most recently in braids — can affect the way she dresses, too. “[It] might manipulate how something looks on me versus a model,” she explains. But her mantra? “It’s all about what you feel works for you.”
