Sneak Peek: Cinderella Star Laura Osnes's Custom Tonys Gown Fitting
See behind the scenes pics of her fitting with Randi Rahm
Any Cinderella who loses her Stuart Weitzman glass slippers at the ball is a Cinderella who takes fashion seriously.
And the woman who plays her on Broadway, Laura Osnes, definitely proves that true, sharing photos from her Tonys dress fitting with designer Randi Rahm.
You may recognize Osnes from her win on the reality show You’re The One That I Want — or from her many leading roles on Broadway since. And now that she’s up for best leading actress at the Tonys this Sunday, she’s preparing for a very different kind of spotlight.
So Osnes and Rahm teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind dress for Osnes to wear on her big night, in styles ranging from sexy to sweet, as you can see in the photos above and below.
“I actually had no idea what I wanted for the Tonys,” Osnes tells PEOPLE. “I felt a little bit of pressure to conform to a “Cinderella” look for the Tonys because that’s what people might expect.”
Osnes has worn Rahm to other major events before (including the opening night party for Cinderella) after hearing about the designer through a friend. “My stylist John McNulty and I met with Randi at her studio, where she actually let me try on some dresses and I instantly fell in love!” she says. “She doesn’t design just one type of dress … I always feel so beautiful, elegant, and glamorous in Randi’s dresses.”
So what made this fitting special? “[Rahm] wants everything to be just right and she’s willing to take the time, energy, and work to make that happen,” Osnes shares. “She goes out of her way to fit each dress to my body perfectly — a perk that many designers would never do.”

Any hints on the final dress Osnes chose? She and Rahm are tight lipped, but she does share: “We nod to Cinderella in the shape and style, yet it’s sophisticated and sexy at the same time.” Tune in Sunday June 9 to CBS to see which dress she picked. We bet this one won’t turn into rags at midnight!
