After dressing Michael Jackson for the World Music Awards, Roberto Cavalli has moved on to dressing another pop icon — Christina Aguilera. He has created ten one-of-a-kind looks for the songstress to wear on her upcoming “Back to Basics” tour, kicking off in Houston on February 20, 2007. All the costumes will have a vintage flare, referencing everything from 1940’s-era Marlene Dietrich to 1960’s bathing suits. This isn’t the first time that Cavalli has dressed Christina, and he explains “I am fascinated by the evolution of Christina’s musical style, as well as her personal style, which has become increasingly glamorous and sophisticated with amazing attention to detail — all values I share in my design sensibility.” The sketches are beautiful, but we can’t wait to see them actually on Christina!
