From her ability to take risks on the red carpet to her fun street-style looks and relatable Instagram snapshots, Shay Mitchell is one star whose closet we wish we could shop. And now thanks to Piperlime, we’ll all be able to snag a few of her favorite pieces, as the star has been named the brand’s “Holiday It Girl.”

The Pretty Little Liars actress had no trouble at all picking her top clothing items. “I just mirrored my style,” she tells PEOPLE. “I would never choose something for someone else that I wouldn’t wear, so choosing them was easy.”

With 65 individual curated pieces, there’s plenty to choose from — sparkly New Years Eve-worthy dresses, chunky sweaters, statement coats, cozy scarfs and chic handbags. But there’s one accessory Mitchell, 27, is currently obsessed with that didn’t quite make the cut: a choker. “Right now there are so many ’90s-inspired accessories that I am seriously loving,” she shares. “Chokers have me really excited … and add a super-cool element to any outfit that doesn’t make you look like you’re trying too hard.”

Surprisingly, a stocking full of chokers isn’t topping Mitchell’s holiday wish list this year. Instead, she’s hoping for a much-needed break. “As cliché as this sounds, I get way more out of finding the perfect gift for someone else … but this year I think a very relaxing and tropical vacay is on the top of my list,” she says.

And as for those gifts for friends and family, Mitchell says she tends to shop best under pressure. “I always have an idea of what I will buy the recipient of whichever gift, but I’m usually at the mall last minute.”

But not no matter what she ends up gifting her pals, it’s spending time with them that means the most to the star. “It’s hard to get all of my girlfriends together, so when I go home at Christmas we do a big dinner potluck-style with wine and dancing, and we will all bring a little something,” she shares. “I may sound boring, but with my schedule and spending quality time with the people in my life that matter most, is a pretty awesome gift.”
