One belief that sets her apart from others: her love of fat as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.
“I embrace fat, the good fat. This is very important, and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the Internet, it’s very good for all your health and it’s full of collagen, when you drink it, it’s like fat,” she told Extra. “I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend.”
Hayek also revealed that her skincare regimen involves her own DIY creations.
“I do a lot of different things — not a lot of things everybody does,” she shared, explaining that she creates her own face cream. “The main ingredient, it’s the bark of a tree that’s used in Mexican hospitals for burn victims, so it regenerates the skin.”
The actress recently told PEOPLE she’s all about creams and natural skincare products, not injectables.
“I don’t believe in Botox, especially when [people] do it so young,” Hayek said. “They destroy themselves. They keep telling young girls, ‘Do it young, so you never get wrinkles.’ No, your face is going to fall. You’ll have to keep getting more and more and more each time. So if you’re going to do it, I recommend doing it as late as you can.”
