He may be a summer Olympian, but it appears Ryan Lochte is no stranger to ice. The swimmer popped the question to his girlfriend, Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid, over the weekend with one ginormous engagement ring that needs to be seen in close up.

The Dancing with the Stars contestant proposed in Malibu, California overlooking the ocean at sunset with an enormous round-cut diamond situated on a simple band. And Reid was already prepared with the classic manicure of every bride-to-be — nude talons.

Lochte announced the news with an Instagram pic kissing his new fiancée writing, “Memories forever!!! #thelochtes #LA.” While Reid couldn’t put her excitement into words: “Speechless. Absolutely beautiful. So in love with YOU.”

The couple first went public during the summer when Reid visited him during the Olympic games in Rio. But were on-and-off again throughout the summer. In a NBC interview Lochte announced he was single and ready to mingle, even saying that before the summer games he joined Tinder.

Despite their on-again, off-again relationship, Reid has been a big source of support for him during his run on DWTS after the couple moved in together. “Especially my girlfriend, because I’m living with her now,” Lochte said in September. “She’s definitely just been so supportive.”
